Calling all chili cooks!

Chilimania is once again proud to host the Wisconsin State Championship Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) Cook-off with the top-placing chilis earning trophies, as well as points toward the CASI National Cook-off in Terlingua, Texas.

Along with the CASI cook-off, we will have a traditional cook-off and a homemade salsa competition with cash prizes and trophies for each. Chili chefs may enter the CASI contest, the Traditional contest, or both, along with the SALSA contest, all for one entry fee. Each chef must cook a minimum of two (2) gallons of chili for the public tasting and People’s Choice voting.

Please note that CASI cooking and judging rules will apply for the CASI cook-off. The CASI cook-off is open to any cooker as long as he/she prepares “chili-grind” chili and his/her chili preparation meets CASI regulations.

More than just a chili cook-off

If you’re more into tasting chili than cooking it, Chilimania also hosts several other competitive events. Run or walk in the Chili Chase 5K/10K, which includes contests for Best Costume and judging for the Official Chilimania Mascot.

After that, at 10AM head to 2 Brothers Bar & Grill at 116 West Fulton Street for the annual Best Bloody Mary Contest. Help choose the Edgerton area’s Best Bloody Mary for both taste and appearance. Anyone age 21+ can enter the drawing to be one of the judges, and there are samples for all!

See below for more information and links to all these events!

CASI Chili Cook-Off

Chilimania is home to the Wisconsin State Championship CASI Cook-Off. Chilimania’s CASI contest is a “chili grind”-only event. All chili to be judged for the CASI contest must meet chili grind specifications.

Traditional Chili Cook-Off

Passionate chili cookers throughout the Midwest, and as from far as Texas, make the journey to Edgerton to cook up their secret recipes and compete for top prizes in both categories. All divisions of the Chilimania Cook-Off are open to all, from beginners to the pros!

Best Salsa Contest

All registered chili cooks are encouraged to enter our Best Salsa Contest, judged by a select panel of Chilimania attendees. All salsas entered must be homemade, so bring your special recipe, provide some chips, and you’ll be eligible to win prizes!

Chili Chase 5K/10K Run

The Chili Chase is a fun run and walk that serves as the official kickoff for the annual, daylong Chilimania festival in downtown Edgerton. Dress in your best chili-themed costume(s) and be eligible for prizes!

Official Chilimania Mascot Contest

All registered Chili Chasers can bring along their best-dressed (and well-behaved) four-legged friends to compete for official mascot. Whose fur baby will be named the best-dressed, cutest and friendliest of the lot?

Best Bloody Mary Contest

Which local establishment makes the Edgerton area’s best-looking and best-tasting Bloody Mary? Admission is FREE and those ages 21+ can register to be a judge.
