The public tasting of chili is a chance for the general public to taste chili cooked by the contestants. Each contestant is required to make 2 or more gallons of chili to share with the crowd. After paying for admission, all you need to do is get a free chili tasting cup from various locations throughout the festival grounds between 3PM and while supplies last. You will then be allowed to sample as much chili as your heartburn can handle!
